Application for Family book

Please note that this application can only be made by a Moroccan male. The Family book or "Livret d'Etat Civil" has to be issued by the civil status officer at the place of birth of the applicant

Required documents

• Copy of Birth Certificate of the husband in Arabic and in French or in English ;
• Integral Copy of the Birth Certificate of the wife (Copie Integrale de l'Acte de Naissance ) ;
• Copy of the National Identity Card (Carte d'Identite Nationale) of both husband and wife ;
• Certified copy of Marriage Certificate ;
• Written application in Arabic signed by the applicant (Please download the application ).

Family book fees : 50 DH (AUD 5.43)

Marriage

According to the new Family Code (Moudawana), all marriages concluded in presence of two muslim witnesses are accepted and the marriage certificate does not need to be validated in Morocco. Please note that Moroccan nationals living in Australia , in New Zealand or in the South Pacific countries should declare their marriage to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canberra within 3 months after their marriage.

Required documents

• Copy of the Registration Card ;
• Copy of the marriage certificate ;
• Birth certificate of husband and wife ;
• Copy of National Identity Card or Passport of husband and wife.

Marriage fees : 40 DH ( AUD 4.34)

Mixed marriage

Divorce

Please note that divorce procedure has to take place in Morocco before the Family judge.

Required documents

• Application to be filled out and signed by both parties ( Please click here for the application form ). Both parties' signatures are required to be done at the Embassy or to be certified by the Department of Foreign Affairs ;
• Certified copy of the Moroccan marriage certificate ;
• Certified copy of Australian / New Zealander mariage certificate (if exist) ;
• Certified copy of Australian / New Zealander divorce certificate signed by the Justice and Foreign Affairs Departments
• Copy of the Registration Card with the Embassy or with the Honorary Consulate General in Sydney or in Auckland.

Divorce fees : 70 DH ( AUD 7.61)
