Warsaw - Polish President Lech Kaczynski hailed on Friday
the institutional reforms launched by Morocco to uphold democracy, Human rights
and gender mainstreaming, Morocco's Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi said on
Friday.
Following a meeting with the Polish President, El Fassi told the press that
Kaczynski discussed the issue of the Union for the Mediterranean (UPM) and
the partnership between the European Union and the countries of Eastern-Europe,
adding that he informed the Polish President about Morocco's stand regarding
the need for synergy between the UPM and Eastern-Europe, notably Poland.
This partnership is a good initiative that should be used to consolidate relations between Morocco and member states, he noted, adding that the meeting touched on the good relations between Morocco and Poland and the need to further foster those ties.
El Fassi laid on a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.
The Prime Minister, who is on an official visit to Poland,
is leading an important delegation that includes Foreign Trade Minister Abdellatif
Maâzouz, Tourism Minister Yassir Znagui and State Secretary to the Foreign
Ministry Latifa Akharbach.
