Morocco to build USD 34Mn train station in Casablanca

The foundation stone was laid recently for the construction of a new train station in Casablanca, worth some USD 34Mn. The project, whose launch was given by HM Mohammed VI, constitutes a new jewel of Morocco's modern railway stations network. The first phase of this project, to be completed in 2010, provides for the construction of, inter alia, a passenger building (passengers hall, commercial premises, administrative offices and platforms), a six-storey building (offices, commercial premises, and an underground parking), and the remodeling of railway facilities (renewal of rails, catenaries...). As for the second phase, it provides for the construction of a tertiary center composed of three buildings that include offices, commercial premises, and an under ground parking.
